The way of the Cross –

The way of cross is among the most popular devotions on the Catholic Church people practice it on Fridays, during retreats but especially in Lent.

Since the early centuries of Christianity, the piety of the faithful had indicated the various places along the “via Dolorosa” where Jesus had stopped or met one person or another as he staggered along the road top Calvary. Those places were called “stations” used to stop at each of them in prayerful meditation Christians were encourage to make the way of the Cross in their own places by reflecting and praying on various stations.

This is how the “way of the cross” , as we know and practice it in our churches.
